Mazda embraces the design philosophy of KODO, or "Soul of Motion". The intent is for their vehicles to visually suggest the energy within them. The 2018 Mazda CX-5 is a perfect example of that philosophy, with its smooth lines and strength bringing art into life.
The Mazda CX-5 is offered in three model trims; Sport, Touring, and Grand Touring. All trims use the SKYACTIV-G ® GASOLINE 2.5 liter dual overhead cam 16-valve 4-cylinder engine. This engine develops 187 horsepower and is equipped with cylinder deactivation technology for improved efficiency. It is connected to a SKYACTIV ® TECHNOLOGY Drive 6-speed automatic transmission. An i-ACTIV AWD® all-wheel drive option is available on all trims.
Starting with the Sport trim, exterior features include LED headlights with auto-off, daytime running lights, power outside mirrors with integrated turn signals, dual exhausts with bright finish, and 17-inch alloy wheels. The Touring adds auto-leveling to the headlights, high beam control, rain-sensing wipers, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The Grand Touring offers LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, and LED taillights, adaptive front lighting, power rear liftgate, and heating for the outside mirrors.
Interior features for the Sport include speed-sensitive door locks, steering wheel controls for audio/phone/cruise control, push button start, remote keyless entry, electronic parking brake, manual day/night mirror, 6-way manual adjustable driver's seat and 4-way front passenger seat, 40/20/40 split rear seat, cloth-trimmed seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear selector, 7-inch full color touch screen Mazda CONNECT™ infotainment system, Bluetooth®, rear view camera, and a multi-information display with trip computer. The Touring trim adds dual-zone climate control, advanced keyless entry, 6-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, and leatherette seats with suede inserts. The Grand Touring offers a power glass moonroof with one-touch open feature, auto-dimming rearview mirror with HomeLink®, 8-way power leather driver?s seat with 2-position memory and 6-way power leather front passenger seat, Bose® 10-speaker audio system, navigation, and SiriusXM® satellite radio.
Safety and security features on the Sport trim include anti-lock brakes with electronic brake force distribution, dynamic stability control, traction control, hill launch assist, advanced blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, smart city brake support, tire pressure monitoring, and child safety rear door locks. The Touring and Grand Touring provide the Sport features plus radar cruise control with stop and go, smart brake support, and lane keeping assistance.
