Introducing the 2019 Mazda6 in Houston, TXThe 2019 Mazda6 has all the best features of a midsize sports sedan front-runner, including a sleek ensemble and plenty of tech-based conveniences. Want to know more? Take a look at this introduction to the Mazda6 and its newest features for 2019.

The Stylish Exterior

Setting the stage for us is the base Sport model. This elegant trim comes with bright dual exhausts and a pair of 17-inch aluminum-alloy wheels. The Touring ups the wheel size to 19 inches and tosses in a power sliding glass moonroof. Coming in third is the mid-level Grand Touring, which adds a heating function and integrated turn signals to the body-colored power mirrors.

The extras don’t stop there. Perhaps the best upgrade comes at the Grand Touring Reserve tier. This luxurious trim adds in silver wheels, a rear decklid spoiler, and bright accents to the lower front mold. Meanwhile, the top Signature gets them all, plus a gunmetal-finished front grille.

The Robust Engine

The Mazda6 runs with a 2.5-liter SKYACTIV-G four-cylinder under the hood. This unit mates to a six-speed automatic transmission with Sport mode for enhanced steering and throttle response. Together they produce 187 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque. The higher trims add a dynamic pressure turbocharger to the group, which increases the output to 250 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque.

The Top-Notch Performance

The Mazda6 offers a smooth ride thanks to features like diagonal hydraulic disc brakes for all four wheels and a suspension system that flaunts dual stabilizing bars. Meanwhile, G-Vectoring Control Plus works to improve handling and torque distribution when cornering.

This sedan earns great gas mileage, too. The top three trims return 23 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway. The Sport and Touring raise those estimates to 26 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway. That way you don’t need to fuel up as often as before.

The Luxurious Interior

The cabin is pretty impressive, too. A dual-zone automatic air conditioning system offers a separate control for the driver and front passenger vents, plus a pollen filter to ensure your air is clean and allergen-free. Other accents include cloth-trimmed seats and a leather-wrapped steering wheel for taste.

A climb to the Touring upgrades the entire front setup. You now have leatherette seating surfaces, a power driver’s seat with lumbar support, and heated front seats with three levels of comfort. Any trim past this tosses in elegant leather seats and a steering wheel with paddle shifters.

The Innovative Technology

Centrally located on the dash is an 8-inch touch screen. Along with a commander control knob, this infotainment system allows you to access features such as Bluetooth audio streaming and HD radio. Upgrade to a higher trim to unlock even more amenities, from smartphone integration to a Bose premium sound system.

Your Mazda6 also comes with active safety technologies meant to help you avoid collisions. These include blind-spot monitoring and radar-based cruise control. Look to the top two for additional support via a heads-up display and 360-degree camera system.

With so much in store for the 2019 Mazda6, which features are you most excited to see?
