Mazda continues to support the popular MX-5 Miata with several improvements introduced in the 2019 model year. Drivers love the sprightly Miata with its cabriolet soft top and superb handling. Now owners will be able to enjoy a wide range of performance and driver preference features:

2019 Mazda MX-5 Miata

  • An important update is the SKYACTIV®-G 2.0-liter engine received performance increases of 26 horsepower and 3 lb-ft of torque with a 700 rpm higher redline. The engine also boasts greater fuel efficiency than last year.
  • There is a new brown soft top available on the Grand Touring trim
  • A telescoping steering column is standard so drivers can find their perfect driving position
  • The steering column is now aluminum to save weight
  • There is a new standard rearview camera
  • New package options are available at all trim levels
  • Traffic Sign Recognition now available
  • Smart City brake support with low-speed automatic emergency braking is now available
  • The entry trim level is the MX-5 Sport with its black soft top and standard features including LED headlights, LED taillights, MAZDA CONNECT™ infotainment with 7-inch touchscreen, keyless entry, and much more. It can be enhanced with the i-ACTIVESENSE® Sport package which adds the Smart City brake support, lane departure warning, and blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert.

    The MX-5 Grand Touring adds to the Sport trim with standard 17-inch dark silver wheels, auto on/off headlights, automatic climate control, leather-trimmed seating, a 9-speaker Bose premium audio system, fabric-lined soft top, satellite radio, navigation, blind spot monitoring, new traffic sign recognition, adaptive front lighting, high beam control, lane departure warning, and Smart City brake support. A GT-S package is available for Grand Touring models with a 6-speed manual transmission which includes a front shock tower brace, limited slip rear differential, and Bilstein dampers.

    The Club trim takes a harder edge for the Miata with standard Bilstein dampers, shock tower brace, limited slip differential, heated cloth seats with red contrasting stitching, body-colored interior trim, metallic black 17-inch wheels, front air dam, rear lip spoiler, Bose audio, satellite radio, and blind spot monitoring, An available Club package includes Smart City brake support and lane departure warning.

    All MX-5 trims use the standard manual transmission, or you can opt for a 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters and Sport mode. There is also a Brembo/BBS or Brembo/BBS/Recaro performance package available for a real performance look and feel.
